Academic Tutoring
I offer private tutoring, in your home on a regular schedule or ad-hoc as needed, anywhere within a 30-minute drive from the Pasadena area. Our first session is always complimentary, and rates are affordable.
How students learn
Every student has their own learning style, and their own barriers. There is no "one size fits all" approach. But the building blocks are the same. Knowledge is important, but it is only a piece of what will make a student learn, grow and be successful.
Knowledge: Reading comprehension, math, vocabulary, science, 0spelling, grammar, geography, etc
Skills: Study skills, organization, note taking, listening skills, memorization skills, tips and tricks
Attitude: Confidence, motivation, belief in themselves, enthusiasm, discipline, reward/consequences
My approach
I look for and listen to what your child needs, what you want them to develop in, and tailor each session. I find your student's strengths, and work to shore up the gaps in Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes.
I'm experienced in breaking down concepts to make them more easily understandable, building confidence, and always stretching a student's mind. My passion in my career as a business professional has been to learn and grow and to help others. That experience allows me to tap into a wealth of tools to apply with your student.
